oh here is a pic of DH's birthday cake i made him in March this year if you cant work it out it is a BASS he is a fishing fanatic. I thinks i did a pretty good job , butter cream icing and all lol.
hello friends, for the first week in about 6 years i am rather happy, you all will be pleased to know that i am that happy i cant find anything to complain about.
whilst DH and i were watching "you are what you eat" on pay tv the other nite the host of the show says that if one is moody and tired one is lacking in vitamin b6 it is a mood enhancer good for pmt etc.
well Dh looks straight at me and says "You had better get some of those"
so i did a little research and found out that zinc is good for lacking sex drives, and good for immune system and healing properties etc.
so i got online to my online pharmacy to search for some of these "hopeful miracle vitamins. so i found i bottle of pills that is B6,zinc, magnesium. i thought hey why not give it ago.
i have been popping as per directed 3 a day with meals and find that i am yelling less and my mood in general is more pleasant. has even helped the bedroom situation too.
mind you dd still gets her share of yelling but no where near as much as it used to be.
so i have been rather "NOT Chirpy, but NOT moody and grumpy. so DH's hearing is returning from the lack of yelling at him.
On another note, i do actually have a small GRIPE, at the lady that works in peter taylors sewing centre in Emerald. this lady was rather rude to me and i presume it was because i did not have grey hair and want to buy the whole shop.
i travelled 120km to the nearest fabric store as our little one just down the road was closed.
i have been sick of looking at a quilt top that icompleted last year i decided it was time to quilt it so i went to peter taylors to get batting.
i walked in with my well behaved soon to be 5 year old and the lady behind the counter asks me with a snarl " what can i do for you"
i said nicely " hi im actually after some batting please"
lady" what do you want cotton ,synthetic, bamboo ???
me not knowing the price said "what ever is cheapest.
dd is hanging off me saying mum i need to go to the toilet!!
i asked the lady " excuse me you wouldnt happen to have a toilet my daughter could use we just travelled 120km here.
lady" we dont have a public toilet ! snarl snarl but i suppose she can use that one! pointing around the corner!
i said thank you and took dd to toilet and then the lady says "how much do you want"?
i said "3mtrs thanks"
rude lady cuts it off sort of folds it puts it in a paper bag throws it down on the counter and says that will be $49.95 is there anything else you want ?
me " yes basting spray if you have it"
lady" no we are all out snarl snarl"
me " thats ok the batting is pretty low loft i can just use extra pins it will be ok "
lady " $49.95 thanks
took my money "no see ya later no kiss me ass no nothing".a aussie saying.
yes i understand that i only spent 50bucks there but if you want your customers to come back you should talk to them politely weather i spend $4 or $300.
im still putting money in your pocket lady.
i wasnt overly upset by the whole thing but it has happened in 2 fabric shops that i have been to now , it irritates me because it feels as though i shouldnt be in a fabric shop as i am not a lady in my 40's.50's.60's or older.
On a brighter note i have started quilting my blue pinappleblossom quilt and hopefully will have it finished by the end of the week. all ready to bind. then it will be on to my scrappy pineapple blossom which i am also eagar to quilt and bind now i have the batting.
anyway it is dd's 5th birthday on the 11th of june so i guess i should consider making a cake for her.
