HELLLOOOOOOOOO
how have you all been ?
well i havent been too bad i recently went to the brisbane Quilt and Craft Fair.
I didnt get to see much of it. we had a emergency in the morning that only allowed us to go for about 3 hours and thats not nearly enuf time to see and fondle all the goodies.
so heres some pictures of the exibition quilts, OF course i only took pictures of the ones i liked hehehe!
so this first set of pictures are some of the nicest ones there.
the stain glass quilt i fell in love with.
and the gum leafs reminded me of eva (yvonne) as eva is doing a gum leaf quilt at the moment and just wanted her to see this one as im wondering if she would tackle one like this next, lol.
There was another that depicted the australian scene is the windmill and old shack in a thunder and lightning storm i took a picture of the lightning close up as it was great.
at the top of the post are pictures of faces that just amazed me, they were done by a lorraine carthew, if you double click on the pictures it will open them up lots bigger , they were made up of lots of little about 2 inch squares all joined together,
the first one is of a famous australian poet (whom i cant remember his name lol, is it RM Williams??) and the second is of a famous australian cricket player (lol dont know his name either lol) could possibly be sir donald bradman im not quite sure . If anyone can tell me these names please post the answers, and the third is a man i dearly loved and was obsessed with as a child even tho he was assasinated before i was even born.
the great JFK.
this fine artist also did the mosac looking birds, they were unreal
the photos dont do any of the quilts justice at all.
There were some fabulous quilts there but unfortunately i didnt take my larger memory stick with me so i only got 22 pictures in total ,
Next time i will take the big memory stick and make sure i take more.
There were heaps of great stuff there, i was a little dissapointed to see that there wasnt more quilting stalls , as alot of it was in fact beading and paper crafts, scrapbooking. im not against any of those i just love quilting more lol.
